MHSA Blood Donation Campaign 2021
1st - 30th June 2021
Owing to certain health conditions and medical interventions, we cannot deny the fact that there is a continuous demand for blood supply. Due to the government's interventions to combat the Covid-19 pandemic such as Movement Control Order (MCO) and social distancing, the public are less likely to go to the blood centres. In addition to that, the arrangement of the blood drives have been debarred during the critical moment.
Malaysian Healthcare Students’ Alliance (MHSA) has organised a blood donation campaign online in collaboration with National Blood Centre (PDN) throughout June in conjunction with the World Blood Donor Day 2021, which falls on 14th June 2021. Malaysian Dental Students’ Association (MDSA) as part of MHSA has been actively involved in this campaign.
On 1st of June 2021, a launching video was released which marks the beginning of this campaign. One of the objectives of this campaign is to encourage people, especially healthcare students who are fit and healthy to donate blood. In order to raise awareness on the importance of blood donation and to educate the healthcare students about the general knowledge of blood donation, a series of educational posters are posted. An online quiz competition is also held to engage participants and test their knowledge on blood donation facts.
