Malaysia's Next Top Dentists 2019 - National Dental Intervarsity Clinical Skill Competition

On the 28th of April 2019, the long awaited dental students' clinical skill competition took place in the prestige MAHSA University.

We conducted 6 categories of competition collaborated with Malaysian Association of Aesthetic Dentistry, Malaysian Association for Prosthodontics, Malaysian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Malaysian Association of Pediatric Dentistry, Malaysian Association of Orofacial Diseases and Malaysian Association of Orthodontics where we conducted competition that test on clinical hand skills and knowledge on restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and oral pathology diagnosis.

We had 70 participants, hand picked and shortlisted by their very own university where they battled amongst the 13 dental universities. They were then judged by the 19 judges represented by their respective association. The event was attended by approximately 220 people including committees, participants, lecturers and the VIPs.

MDSA is very honored to be able to partner with MAHSA University where we have worked endlessly and tirelessly to conduct this competition of ours. We would like to thank the dean of faculty of dentistry of MAHSA University, Prof. Dr. Rosnah Binti Mohd Zain for the collaboration opportunities and the given support from the students.

MDSA would also like to send our highest appreciation to 3M Oral Care @3Moralcare_my for giving us RM56,250 worth of sponsorship to be able to make this event a successful one. They sponsored all the materials, venues, registration, goodie bags, prizes for the event use! Thank you for that!

Let us all congratulate Fakulti Pergigian UKM for winning the overall champion for this competition! They have secured the gold for aesthetic restorative competition, and the silver for orthodontics wire bending competition, oral pathology case-based competition and for pediatric dentistry restorative competition!
