Kulliyyah of Dentistry is the newest kulliyyah of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). It was established by YBhg Maj. Gen. Dato’ Paduka Prof. Dr. Hj Mohd Termidzi Hj Junaidi on 1st July 2006 with only a small number of staff and lecturers. The legendary first three batches enrolled, were practising Dentistry in a single building in Kuantan Campus, Indera Mahkota, Pahang.
Going stronger by the years, in 2011, KOD IIUM moved to a new and architecturally unique building led by the second Dean Maj. (R) Dr. Akbar Sham Hussin. With the third and current Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhannad Ali Kashmoola, they are already welcoming the 11th batch.
Let us see what is so special of KOD IIUM!

1. Alhamdulillah, this year IIUM is celebrating its 10th anniversary. In conjunction with this celebration, IIUM will be organizing its very first International IIUM Dental Conference (IIDC) at Zenith Hotel, Kuantan on 6th-8th October 2017.

2. The polyclinic in KOD IIUM is extensively equipped with advanced technology to accommodate all year 3 until year 5 students, promoting effective learning during practical sessions. Each island has 5 cubicles with different assortment of colours indicated by numbers, letters A until Z and also Arabic letters.

3. Kulliyyah of Dentistry IIUM is amazingly distinct for its colored uniforms, or also known as Tunic which represents each batch. The first batch is maroon, followed by purple, turquoise , yellow, blue, red, green, purple (again), and pink. Let us all wait for the new tunic colour for the 10th batch!

4. Kulliyyah of Dentistry IIUM truly values the bond between the students and their lecturers. The Mentor Mentee Gathering is one of its efforts to foster stronger relationship between the students and lecturers by preparing meals together. To top it off, their culinary prowess is not only limited to cooking local cuisine, but also foreign delicacies from Egypt, Iraq, Myanmar and many more thanks to their multinational talented lecturers!

5. Every graduating batch in Kulliyyah of Dentistry IIUM will abide by The Oath of Muslim Dental Surgeon. After the ceremony, they will plant their own “tree” as a symbol of their perseverance for completing their degree. This year, it is Mango Tree!

6. Uniquely in IIUM, the lecturers, staff and students united as Muslim, focusing on implementing Islamic values in every single events. To foster the outside-clinic bond like a family, Dental Students Society (DENSS) organizes monthly Congregational Prayer and Breaking Fast (Iftar) with the whole Kulliyah of Dentistry communities, included with reminder (Tazkirah).
