World Oral Health Day 2019 Celebration
We celebrated the launch of World Oral Health Day 2019 with the presence of Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad on the 20th of March 2019, in Bangunan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, Putrajaya.
Eight out of ten Malaysians are not aware that they have dental problems, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
According to Dr Dzulkefly, studies show that only 27.4% of adults go for a dental check up every year, and 42% of adults visit the dentist every two years.
Therefore, it is essential for us, dental health provider to work together as a team, to raise oral health awareness altogether!
We are beyond privileged to be part of the organising committees for the WOHD in Malaysia, with collaboration from Malaysian Dental Association, Oral Health Promotion from Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, Dental Services of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Dental Dean’s Council of Malaysia for the celebration of WOHD. Apart from the launch, we initiated two competitions, namely WOHD Video Competition for dental students and dental practitioners, and WOHD Photography Competition for the public and we did received an overwhelming response!
